Prices reasonable, food was good, service attentive. We had the Chicken tikka, Alu mattar, Lamb korma and Garlic naan were all very good with fresh ingredients and spices. Servings are normal indian size - we (2.5) left away very full. Inside dining very comfortable. Very large indian group dined there also - they looked pretty happy.

I have not been to the Tandoori Oven in Cairns, but I'm assuming it's 'related' to the Tandoori Oven in Palm Cove.

Over the last two weeks I've ordered take away from Tandoori Oven Palm Cove twice. It's by far the best North Indian I've ever had; and I have previously lived in Asia for 18 years. The butter chicken is amazing, as are the naan, eggplant & potato curry, and tandoori chicken. The saffron rice is not great and I was not a fan of the lamb vindaloo (although my husband was). After phoning and placing our order the food was ready within 20 minutes and ready for pick up when we arrived. It's reasonably priced for Indian which is so delicious.

For those visiting or living in the Northern Beaches, I strongly recommend Tandoori Oven Palm Cove.

I have visited this restaurant 3 times in the last 6 months. On the first 2 occasions the food was generally quite good without really impressing.

On the most recent (and it WILL be the last), the wheels appeared to have completely fallen off. Both my partner and I had to send our meals back because they were not sufficiently hot (temperature). On returning them very quickly after presumably microwaving them, they waiter indicated that the chef had also added some chilli, although this had never been mentioned. We then ended up with 2 over-chillied, re-heated dishes that were entirely without the depth of flavor that makes indian food so interesting.

A very dissapointing result especially considering we were there on a quiet night. Perhaps thats WHY it was so quiet...

I ordered a takeout curry to be delivered. Good service on the phone taking my phone order.
I asked for a medium curry, but it was more like mild like so many curries in Australia compared to the UK.
Naan was very nice.
Lamb cutlets were pretty ordinary and dry.

Overall good.

I am from Sydney and I've been coming to this restaurant with my family and friends for years, it never fails to impress! Beautiful food and fantastic service, it is classy yet affordable! BYO wine and beer, not too many places offer that. I will be back every Christmas, Tandoori Oven!

I loved the food and Tandoori oven. One of the best i had in Australia. I would recomend to any body who loves Indian authentic food. The price was so resonable it came to 20 dollars per head for two person having entree and main and a drink. The best North Indian cusine in Australia and followed excellent service which is promt.
