Daintree Tea House
As the longest established restaurant in the Daintree area, the Daintree Tea House Restaurant has a big reputation to maintain. It is regarded as a premier lunch destination for travellers in the Daintree and Cape Tribulation, and it is rumoured no one departs from the restaurant without a wide grin and a satisfied belly. It is also open for dinner by reservation.

What people are saying...
In 1994 I went to the Daintree Tea house for lunch whilst on a tour, the pan fried Barramundi fillet and tropical fruit salad remains the best meal I have ever had. A ++++
What a team so pleasant, so attentive & fun, Our second (1st 2005) visit was just as outstanding as the 1st & will be on our list as long as we come to Port Douglas every 2 years.
The food is fresh, the cooking and presentation is outstanding! Especially the Barramundi and accompanying salad, but that truly delicious, Date, Pineapple & Ginger Pudding - SUPERB.
Another aspect of your business cannot go unmentioned, your marvellous waitress (doesn't seem correct term, say hostess). She is an asset to your business, gentlemen, don't let her go.
To, Mum, your presence & works really add to the whole business. Lovely to meet you again.
You may be able to guess that the time we spent with you in that most pleasant of quiet, calming, charming well presented restaurant in the Daintee was a great experience. Our very best wishes t you all

The first time we happened on the Tea House was in 2000. They were closed, as late afternoon, but made a special effort to serve us tea and excellent scones anyway. This attitude was very much appreciated and we have been back there since at regular lunch hours. Most recently in July this year and we brought friends, who were very pleased with the experience. The food, the setting, the service etc. etc.
Exceptional food and service, very pleasant and relaxing atmosphere.
My partner and I had the privilege of having lunch at Daintree Tea House Restaurant this afternoon. What an incredibly relaxing experience! The service was first-rate and the food was excellent. We felt as if we had found a 'restaurant home' and will be returning on a regular basis. For locals living in the Cairns area, the Daintree Tea House Restaurant is a rare find; for overseas visitors, the experience must be memorable and well beyond the usual tourist fare.
What a lovely surprise! Thanks for a great experience.
An exceptional oasis to enjoy tropical north queensland food from the source. The best Barramundi!

On our recent trip in November 2010, we had a beautiful lunch of pan fried barramundi with salad in the courtyard overlooking the beautiful daintree forestation.
We also tasted the most exotic tropical fruits and the service was simply oustanding. Will definitely visit again when we return to Port Douglas.
