Shrubbery Taverna

Visited last weekend for Sunday lunch, very disappointed at the slowness of being served. 1 1/2hrs is way too long.


Meal was lovely once it was finally delivered. Was about to walk out.

My wife and I recently dined at The Shrubbery Taverna and shared a wonderful seafood platter for two with a side order of mixed breads. The food was absolutely wonderful with superb sauces for the prawns and mussels. The bread was also a taste sensation. The service, atmosphere and location was faultless. We spoke to the owner, John North, who is an amiable, friendly and welcoming host, explained that he was going to add a Balinese Garden, one can only imagine what a delightful place this will be then. This was a wonderful dining experience for my wife and I and her father and uncle from England.

Bernie"s at the Beach is greatest experience I have ever wanted. The Owner "Bernie" is the greatest Maitrad'e on the Coast. I love Bernie and Mission Beach is better for the endulgence of sand ,water,and Bernie!

My family enjoyed a great dinner at the Shrubbery Taverna last weekend. Visiting from Mackay QLD, the food and service exceeded our expectations. The food was excellent and so was the service. I found the whole atmosphere very welcoming.
The view is priceless.

I was visiting freinds at Mission and they introduced me to the Shrubbery. A fantastic place with great food, atmosphere and people. We went there every day for afternoon drinks and sometimes stayed for dinner.
Highly recommended, dont miss the opertunity...

Visiting from Melbourne, and looking for a good meal in Mission Beach, we stumbled upon the Shrubbery Taverna. From the moment we sat down, we were welcomed and made to feel at home by an amazing staff. Unlike a lot of menus, the difficulty came in trying to choose a single item, as there were so many all at the table wanted to sample. And the food lived up to expectations. The service and food to rival among the best in Melbourne. Congratulations to the owners and chef.

We visited this restaurant for the second time last week. The food was amazing.The fresh ingredients and interesting combinations were a delight to the palate. The chef even came to our table to check if everything was OK. The service was absolutely superb and the ambience was relaxed, warm and funky. I would certainly recommend this restaurant to anyone who is visiting the area. It is fantastic.

i found mission beach by accident while on a road trip with a group of my friends. We actually thought we were in arlie beach! anyway, we went to the shrubbery for dinner cos we had heard from the locals that it was the resteraunt to go for a laid back, cruzy evening. The food was beautiful, the atmosphere is great, Norbert and the staff are "real"and the entertainment that Adamo kept going through the night was so relaxing and left us with a casual vibe. We will definantly return the to shrubbery again!
