Food was very tasty and fullfilling, we decided to go with the banquet. However the service was terrible, they had two waiters for around thirty people, and took extreamly long to bring each dish, which in turn even though the food was nice just made the whole experiance a let down.

They dont even over you drinks, you have to struggle to get the waiters attention everytime you want something.

Overall i wouldnt advise eating here unless there is a decent waiter to customer ratio.

What a disappointment. We have dined at hundreds of restaurants in Cairns and this would have to be the worst. The staff were more intent of pulling people off the street and filling tables then serving customers.

We had to ask for drinks, they were not offered. the meals were a disgrace:- Spaghetti Bolognaise with no meat, BBQ prawns and calamari that had an awful smokey tase and the garnish - Tomato Sauce!!Sounds real turkish to me.

I had the mised grill that consisted of meat as tough as boot leather. My wife asked for weater and was told to waith by the matre'd. When it did arrive, it was straight out of the tap, not even cold.

I think they should pack up and move back to Istanbul. The service and food stinks.

What a disappointment! I have spent a lot of time in Turkey and I really love the cuisine, so maybe my expectations were too high. The food in Mado was boring, had very little taste and was terribly dry. Nothing like what I've had in Turkey. The belly dancing was also very far from the authentic Turkish belly dancing. The service was ok, but the food was overpriced for what it was. I wish I could find a good Turkish restaurant in Cairns!

Checked their website one time so I can have an idea of what's in their menu and price, and I'm quite amazed with their website... The website reflects Mado's endulgent food, friendly service and of course the restaurant itself.

I loved the lamb shish with steamed rice and fresh vegetable that I had... After a month, I went back to try their pizza and it was perfect, I had chicken and lamb pizza for my partner, 1 slice of pizza made me full that I couldn't eat anymore...

I also tried their baklava, one of the best in Cairns, its not too sweet... LOL

Would recommend it to my friends surely...

I walked in off the street with no expectations other than trying something different. And I walked out pleasantly suprised and happy with the experience and tastes I had just devoured.

I'm not going to suggest it's the best I've had in terms of culinary experiences but I found the staff, food and experience worthy of our parted coin.

Would eat there again if invited or if its suggested to me.

We went here for a joint birthday meal, with a party of approx 12 people. This place had no atmosphere of ambience at all, the celing fan above us, we were advise was broken!
The decor is tacky and cobbled together.

The service was average.

My partner and I shared the dips for startes, these were ok ish.

Then the main course arrived, it was a butterflied chicken breast with a tiny offering of salad and a mound of oily/greasy rice. a few people in our party had chicken kebabs that were still pink in the middle. We did not hang around for dessert.

Very dissapointing and certainly not value for money, we spent $70.40 on the worst meal I have had in a long long time.
That included only a shared starter, one main each, one soft drink and corkage for one person!

Do yourself a favour give Mado a wide birth, there are much much more better places to eat in Cairns.

Two of our three dishes were served cold, and the customer service was friendly but inflexible.

The turkish food here is to die for the servings were great and the price was affordable as a family of 4. The turkish coffee was wonderful and the ambience was 10 out of 10. Our family highly recommend turkish food and we have had food in other resturants as well but not as good at this the servce was excellent and bellydancing was amazing to watch while we ate as a family high recommended once again do check it out.

We shared an excellent night here with friends and the food was well cooked and tasty. Lots of variety on the menu, I especially loved the 4 dips we had to start. Great location with lots of potential and friendly waitstaff. Next time we'll bring more people and have the banquet options!
