What people are saying...
We had some business partners to wine and dine and decided to go to the Inlet.
Great choice and everyone was happy. Great food good value for money. The choice was too much but at the end we decided on fresh local seafood. Curry excellent and the presentation is also great.
The staff are knowledgeable and friendly.
Will recommend to others and defenately be back. Keep up the great work.
Regards
David
I have been to this place about 10 times, not too bad for a german, isn`t it?! Its the place to be, what else can I say... If I had 24 hours to live, give me my ticket to Cairns, hold a place in the bus for me and let me watch that monsterfish, while enyoing a bucket a prawns and a glass of chardonnay! greatest place on earth, apart of my seat in the local footballstadium;-)
Can't comment on the food other than a bowl of chips which was fine. great bar in an amazing location. Get their about 4 just for a couple of beers and watch the staff feed george the groper. Its not until he grabs his bait that you realise how big this fish is. its bigger than the bloke feeding it and he was 6 foot. Then sit back and watch the sun set.
GREAT PLACE ! Very good service and helpful waiters.
Ambience superb.
Prices very reasonable.
Food delicious without being fussy, just the way I like it.
Definately go back.
I live in Ohio California and enjoyed my recent stay in the famous Port Douglas and especially my dining experience at On The Inlet. The big shlong fish that frequently makes an appearence off the boardwalk is exciting and wonderful entertainment. The food was great and the dishes were so clean.
its pritty good. especially if you like fish and seafood and steak and oysters and stuff. 3 cheers for all the fellas that work here even the dishwashers becuse without them, we would not have clean plates.
My husband and I had lunch at On the Inlet whilst on holiday there in May 2005. Great location, friendly staff, and the food was superb. Will certainly be returning.
My wife and I booked a table, via the Internet from England, for New Years Eve 2004. We were not disappointed. The welcome was very warm and the atmosphere inside was superb, beaten only by the quality of the food. A great way to start the new year and a prime example of Australia at it's best, we won't forget the experience.
I loved this restaurant, I was went for lunch after my girlfriend had her wedding reception there and recommended that I give the place a try, so on my honeymoon, this was the first place my husband and I went for lunch. The food was fresh, simply presented and the service was casual, attentive and friendly. We would recommend this place to everyone who hasn't yet been!
Our dinner at On the Inlet was lovely, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The added novelty of the huge grouper. Food was fantastic, not to mention the selection of great wines.

We dropped into the Inlet (in '11) on our first night in Port Douglas as were treated to magnificant food friendly staff. I had the bucket of prawns with the side order of chips and was amazed at the value and quality of the serve. We are going back this year ('12) and guess what - we will be back at the Inlet for the food and the George, the biggest Groper and his friends that call in for the (sea) floor show at 5:00PM. CU there. Definite 5 rating.
